Sustainability & Conservation

Our sustainability ethos at Lewa Safari Camp is driven by solar energy, a zero-tolerance policy on single-use plastics, and a circular waste system. We recycle all solid waste through TakaTaka Solutions and repurpose food waste as organic fertiliser for our culinary gardens. By combining modern carbon monitoring with traditional, low-impact solutions like charcoal fridges, we ensure our operations are both innovative and responsible. Certified by Ecotourism Kenya, our camp remains a benchmark for sustainable hospitality.

Socially, we work in lockstep with the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy to support vital healthcare, education, and women’s micro-enterprise programmes. From sponsoring community races at the Lewa Safari Marathon to donating indigenous seedlings and medical supplies to local clinics, our impact is tangible and widespread. Through school mentorship talks and conservation education, we are actively investing in the next generation of leaders, ensuring that the benefits of tourism are felt across the entire landscape.
