Sustainability & Conservation
Our sustainability at Elephant Pepper Camp is powered by solar energy and circular resource management. We utilise biological wastewater treatment, rainwater harvesting, and traditional charcoal refrigeration to minimise our footprint, while our culinary gardens and beekeeping provide organic produce for our kitchens. As signatories of the Glasgow Declaration and certified by Ecotourism Kenya, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy on single-use plastics and recycle all solid waste via TakaTaka Solutions, ensuring our operations remain at the forefront of eco-friendly hospitality.
Beyond conservation, we are dedicated to empowering the local community through our partnership with Ololomei Primary School. We host regular career mentorship days to inspire students and, alongside the Land & Life Foundation, provide comprehensive secondary school scholarships for high-achieving, disadvantaged youth. By investing in both education and professional mentorship, we ensure that our presence in the Mara North Conservancy creates a lasting, positive legacy for the next generation of hospitality and conservation leaders.
